Napiwodzko-Ramucka Forest

The Łańsk holiday resort is located in the heart of the Napiwodzko-Ramucka Forest - a protected area, covered by the Natura 2000 silence zone due to its natural values and the richness of unique flora and fauna.

Unique surroundings

Warmiński Forest

The "Warmiński Forest" reserve is a natural enclave for people who value peace, quiet and close contact with wild nature. The reserve covers 1,800 ha of virgin area between Lake Łańsk and the village of Rus, in the heart of the Napiwodzko-Ramucka Forest.

Unique surroundings

We will meet a variety of nature here: virgin forests, picturesquely situated mid-forest lakes and ponds, wetlands, clearings and a unique, gorge section of the river - Łyna. The surrounding forests are characterized by an untouched tree stand and undergrowth with black berries, bilberries and mycelium of all noble varieties.

While walking through the Warmian Forest, you can also come across traces of Warmian villages that existed 100 years ago: Jełguń and Sójka. The Warmiński Forest has a rich history - it was once inhabited by Prussian tribes, while in Jełguń in the 19th century there was a glassworks.

Lake Łańskie

The Łańsk center is located on the largest lake in the Olsztyn Lakeland. It has an area of 1050 ha. Its bottom is diversified in terms of depth: from shallow places to the greatest depth of 53 m. There are four islands on Lake Łańsk, with the largest of them a 5 ha barn.

The water in the lake received the 1st class of purity. This means that it has great living conditions for many valuable fish species. We can meet here: whitefish, whitefish, eel, pike, tench, perch, bream and roach. Lake Łańskie is also a paradise for waterfowl. Apart from species such as gray heron, cormorant, grebe, wild mallard, coot, teal and black-headed gull and tern, rare birds deserve special attention: white-tailed eagles, kites, buzzards and cranes.

The Łyna River Reserve

Distance → 57 km

Landscape and geomorphological reserve "Springs of the Łyna River" Prof. R. Kobendzy is located near the villages of Orłowo and Łyna, at the source of the Łyna River. It is a lovely, vast valley with side ravines with steep slopes, where the phenomenon of back erosion occurs.

Unique surroundings

The Łyna River owes its course to the action of the last Baltic Ice Age, although it is also worth knowing the legend of its formation. Łyna was the daughter of the King of the Thousand Lakes, who in return for regaining freedom offered the fisherman his youngest daughter in marriage. Once upon a time, a tree crushed her husband. To save him, she stole a flower from her father. Instead, the king of the Thousand Lakes turned it into a river.

In the reserve, you can find trees with an age of 120 - 140 years. Here you can find: English oak, Norway maple, silver birch, aspen, Scots pine and Norway spruce.
There are parking lots, footbridges and piers next to the reserve, which give the opportunity to observe the phenomenon of backwater erosion and admire the beauty of this place, which gives rise to the largest river in Warmia and Mazury.

Monuments of nature

The Warmiński Forest, in the heart of which Łańsk is located, delights with the richness of vegetation. The ancient trees make a huge impression: the oldest pines are over 200 years old, and some oaks are even 350 years old!

You don't have to look far to admire these beautiful and majestic trees. At the entrance to the Center, on the right side you can admire an oak - a natural monument. On the other hand, while enjoying a cup of aromatic tea on the terrace of the Łańska Restaurant, you can admire the beauty and dignity of Napoleon's Oak. Legend has it that the emperor of the French stayed overnight under it. Today it is a symbol of the Łańsk Center - its silhouette adorns our logo.

Many species of animals can be found in the vast area of the Łańsk Recreation Center. These are, among others European deer, famous for their handsome antlers, can be heard during the autumn rut. Walking near the Łyna River, we will surely come across intricately constructed dams. Or maybe we will be able to spot their creators - beavers?

Unique surroundings

You can also see otters, badgers and even wolves in the forests around Łańsk. It is also worth looking at the sky - we will see rare species of birds there: the majestic white-tailed eagle, the black stork or the lesser spotted eagle. So, in the evening or early morning, let's sit on a bench by the lake shore and listen to the rhythm of the Lans' nature.

Łańska apiary

We run an apiary on the premises of our Center, from which we collect Hindu honey with a strongly perceptible lime note. You will find out about its wonderful properties, aromatic smell and unique taste when you come to us.

The apiary also plays an educational role. Our youngest guests, under the watchful eye of a beekeeper, can see the secret life of busy bees. See the queen of the hive - the mother, her workers and drones. Maybe they will even witness the chrysalis hatching? Emotions guaranteed!
